So this week's been kind of terrible.. Monday and Tuesday my blood sugars were insane because it was that time of the month, and I swear someone put sugarwater in my pump. Then on Tuesday night my guinea pig died, soo that wasn't very fun. And my older dog is getting put down next week because he isn't doing well, and to add to that, I keep having nightmares. It kind of stinks! I have a boyfriend, but were dating long distance and I saw him 2 weeks ago and I swear, I can't seem to get back into the swing of things since I got home. Like everyday things like checking my blood sugar is almost a struggle without him, because he was keeping me in check and keeping me on top of things. It's just insane. :// I'm working on getting back on track, but it's not easy!
Sorry to just rant and unload, I just needed some way to get it all out. Kind of an insane week :// Diabetes doesn't really help either. I know why my blood sugars are insane, and I know why I had the nightmares (I get nightmares when I go to bed high). It's just all a mess sometimes!
I find diabetes a constant struggle for me. Before Halloween I was heading towards an A!C of 6.9 but with everyone bringing in their leftover candy and then Thanksgiving I have had a hard time doing what it is I need to do. I went to the doc on Tues and my A!C was in he 8's down from 9, but knowing if I had continued how I was doing before that even the lower number doesn't seem to feel like much. Don't beat yourself up too much. It is a hard struggle day in and day out. I am really sorry about your pets.
Hi I'm Betty Alvarez, and do not worry, we all have bad moments, which involves both situations we can not control and then the order is lost, however it is best to remain calm and wait, let everything go and go, empty your mind of all, breathe deeply and then clears the mind, just so you can think calmly and sensibly to solve problems. Do not forget that you are not alone and someone is always on the lookout for you, near or thousands of miles, count me as your friend. You are not alone. We send greetings and a big hug. Take care.
How often do you test? Are you type 1 or 2? Are you on Insulin? I've got a couple of hints. For the past while I've been using the Accu-Chek Multiclix lancet device, because I find it gentler on my fingers, and thus, easier to use mulitple times during the day. Also, I'm on Lantus, and use the SoloStar insulin pen, and that keeps me going for a whole day. Also, if you have some other friends around you, maybe you can get one or more to check in with you, on a daily basis, just to give you a cheery thought or advice. I understand your boyfriend is away, but try to be strong, and look after yourself, at least for his sake. You DO have other folks with similar problems, that I'm sure would like to chat with you, and pick up your spirits. Take care; Chaplain ET.
I totally get cha. Having diabetes is insane!! I'm having a very hard time controling mine right now. I just got back from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and was diagnosed with autonomic neuropathy. Supposedly because of my rapid drops in blood sugars. I used to be very out of control and now I am in better control thanks to the pump. If you need anyone to talk to, I'm here whenever. Things will turn out alright, even if they don't seem like it at the moment.
