Balance billing is where our insurance prenegotiated price set, and the vendor ie EDGEPARK try’s to no end to get us to pay the difference between the negotiated price and full retail, in my case my employer(Southwest Airlines) Insurance covers Diabetic Supplies at 100%, and EDGEPARK trys to no end to charge me the 800 dollars difference, which is 100% illegal in Texas. Byram has never given me a issue, my G6 supplies simply show up, EDGEPARK on the other hand try to force me to pay for my omnipods up front, or the difference, calling the 1-800 number is fruitless, I have tried to get my Insurance(United Healthecare) to drop them too.
You might consider getting your employer Benefits to try to resolve. My employer helped me out with my troubles with Caremark getting pump and cgm charges resolved.
I have been using CCS for both pump and Dexcom supplies and have had no problems over the last 3 years. I get an email, a text and an order form when it is time to order supplies plus there is a CCS rep in my endocrinologist office. If I have an issue I call her and the problem is taken care of quickly.
I agree with others that EdgePark should be avoided at all costs. I am on Medicare and get my Dexcom G6 supplies through a Walgreens COMMUNITY Pharmacy. You have to find the large community pharmacy nearest to your home, but they are wonderful. I live three hours away from the nearest Walgreens Community Pharmacy, but once I contacted them and my doctor sent in prescriptions for my supplies, everything was seamless. Each month, they call me and ask if I am ready for my next shipment. When I reply that I am, they OVERNIGHT the sensors to me. If I need a new transmitter, they will ship that also. Last month, I told them that my receiver was not working correctly. They checked with my insurance to make sure that a new one would be covered, and then they sent me a new receiver, too. Walgreens Community Pharmacies are great for Dexcom supplies, and I never have to wait for an order.
I agree. Avoid Edgepark.
For non-Medicare folks, Dexcom may be available as pharmacy benefit. Dexcom is working to get more insurance plans to accept. So this year I was able to use Costco ( or CVS) to get my G6. Much easier and quicker than CCS Medical, and lower cost.
