lol. my mom would have been freaking out to and i would have been like im fine
13 lowest. About 8 years ago
1023 when Dx 28 years ago
58 - I’m such a lightweight when it comes to going low. I’ve only cracked the 400 mark once, so I guess I’m a lightweight in that department as well.
That’s like when I tested at 1.2 (21 mg/dl) about a month after diagnosis. I was nine and thought it was kind of cool to be so low, and my mom freaked out and said I should be unconscious.
As for my highest and lowest, I’ve gone so low the meter could only read LO (below 1.1 mmol/L) and so high the meter could only read HI (above 33.3 mmol/L).
I had a few lows where I was incapacitated and people did not test me before helping, so I don’t know how low I was on those occasions, but considering I am functional at readings like 1.7 and 1.9 (31 and 34 mg/dl), they were probably very low.
No idea what I was when I was diagnosed, but I’m betting that it would be my highest blood sugar ever.
My highest was 38 (multiply by 18!)
My lowest was below 1.1 mmols (multiply by 18!)
Both times I was very ill!
Jen, you sound just like me! I am functional at just 1.1 - and I have had a few LOs and a few HIs too!
Thankfully I don’t get readings like that often, but after 20 years of T1 it’s not surprising I have a few!
Lowest was 19 that I could recall…Still awake and talking, though not very coherently: I think I was in the ER after I was found “asleep” in my parked car, on the side of a service road. Highest I think I was at 581 when I had undiagnosed pnuemonia in 1982…
Hey, BMD, in this case being a lightweight is a good thing!
Don’t really know my lowest: I came back to consciousness, tested and was 38, so I know I’d been lower before my liver kicked in. High: somewhere in the 400s when the oral meds had stopped working and before I started insulin (LADA misdiagnosed as type 2 for 15 months).
I have seen 11 and 12 on my meter a few times, not for a while though. When the paramedics revive me, they always test and go “gee, it’s 46, that’s low!” but I’ve hit 39 running and sprinted a couple of blocks to crank it up with hormones too so I don’t get totally incapacitated. Guitar Hero kills my bg though. I have lost my legs several times, where they sort of get noodly, playing that. Real guitar doesn’t have the same effect but GH is bad news for me. I dunno why.
The high might be 350 or so? I don’t remember that as I haven’t run it up there for a pretty long time either.
My lowest 49., about three weeks ago, first time it was that low in 2 years, highest was 257 when I was diagnosed in 2004
My highest when I was first diagnosed was 369,and my lowest was 118.I felt really wonky at 118. I’m still newish, only 2 months into diabetic world.Thankfully,i havent cracked 300 since.
43/369 (1 day after Dx), both are extremely aberrant though and i’ve seen 200+ only twice this calendar year
ah, it just came to me that I was 650@ dx, 1984, yoikes, that was a long time ago…
491 at diagnosis in 12-08. Lowest number since was a really scary high complete with pounding, rapid heart, sweating & shaking uncontrollably - 57. I was probably lower than that 48 years ago when I passed out in school & was unconscious for 25 minutes. I get low symptoms whenever I’m near 100.
My lowest so far has been around 38 and my highest was around 520 when I was diagnosed, since then my highest is 250. I barely go over 160 now but it takes a lot of work.
