Lowest & Highest Blood Sugars

Just thought it would be fun to see what everyone's lowest and highest blood sugars have been in the last week or so. So if you don't mind sharing your information with others feel free to post your highest and lowest blood sugars here.

31, 417 both were early on before things stabilized

Oh wait in the last week, probably 72 and 120 roughly, the numbers above were when first diagnosed and learning to use insulin

In the last week, easily 204 as a high and 87 for my low. Diagnosed 6 years ago and still coming to terms with a late diagnosis of type 1 my current Dr. even has me in the books as type 1 which is not supported at all with my history.

72 and 225. 225 was for a sunday roast,dessert included-hard to do on mdi!

72, 191. The 191 was post-dinner and I'm almost positive it's because the Cycloset wears off then.

178 and 44. I had a weird weekend, really good run but had run up to the 178 c. 3:00 AM the night before, perhaps 5 Guys at 11:00 the night before was not the best choice but, even if I had correcctly estimated the carbs in the fries in the bottom of the bag, I only had 1/2 burger so not a diet disaster in pantsometer terms but blew up BG in the AM. I got a head start on correcting and was 88 w/ 2U IOB by 5:00 w/ 12 mile run on the addenda and then had an ok run but BG would not get out of 130 and was back up to 150, probably from the Gatorade. It kept feinting down but then would sproing up, not my usual experience. I'd swapped the site for a bunch of old insulin bottles which usually works ok but the corrections seemed slow and ineffective until the 44 came out of nowhere like 3 hours later. I kept blasting up and down but eventually decided to chuck the old juice yesterday and got back on track. Long weekend.

I have to be honest, I've been struggling a bit lately. My endo wanted me to back off from my basal insulin since I've been unable to normalize my fasting blood sugars with any amount of basal and she felt it was too much and I was gaining weight. This week I've really struggled with Darn Phenomenon, highest was 198 mg/dl and an average upon waking of 167 mg/dl. My lowest numbers are after meals, I had an 87 mg/dl after dinner, my only reading under 100 mg/dl all week.

Darn aliens

I love your picture  I feel like aliens take over my blood sugars sometimes.

It was an unusual week--I went to visit the grandchildren and the food choices served were difficult. What is it about telling my son I don't eat pasta and it becomes a main course three meals in a row? Anyway, I have had a real roller coaster in the last seven days--BG readings were high while I was away, and as I got reorganized at home, I hit some lows. That said:

HIGH: 240
LOW: 39

in Oct so far-
52 FBG
131 2 hr PP (think the breaded fish caused it)

This past week:

Highest - 137
Lowest - 68

here's another discussion about high/low. 29 pages of responses
Lets play high/ low. What’s your highest and lowest reading you recall, EVER?

During the past week:

High: 15.9 (286 mg/dl)
Low: 2.8 (50 mg/dl)

This is actually vastly improved for me from several months ago. Excited to see what my A1c will be next week!

So many of you have such amazing control! If we are talking October so far, then my numbers would be 2.2 (40 mg/dl) for the low and 25.6 (461 mg/dl) for the high.

46 was my lowest I think and 153 was my high. That was yesterday when I spiked 3-4 hours after dinner and as my basal was running out and then dropped from a correction unfortunately. I think I'm getting a cold- have to run out and get some of my homeopathic remedy.

It hasn't been a very good week.

Low - 61
High - 180 and I've been above 160 at least once every day in the last 7

Let's hope it's just catching up with the change of season.
