Hey all, my name is Rachael and I'm 25. Was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 6, I use an Omnipod insulin pump, and my A1C is 6.5. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past 8 months. I just started on Clomid yesterday, and my blood sugar has been running a bit high. Has anyone taken this before? Success stories? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!
I took it last year, after 2 years of trying, with no success but it DID make my blood sugar go up a tad while I was on it. Nothing too high, and nothing that wouldn't come down, but higher than I was used to following my period. But my endo had warned me that it may make my BS spike, so I was prepared for it.
I am happy to say that we FINALLY got pregnant on our own in September (after 3 years TTC and completely giving up) and are expecting a baby girl next month! Good luck with the Clomid! I've known plenty of people who got pregnant using it, just none of them were diabetic :)
I will start taking clomid in June/July (after trying to conceive for over 2 years). My endo and diabetes educator (whom I see once a month) have put me on Glumetza - a type of metformin. They both have said that it works very well with clomid and insulin absorpotion. Might be worth asking about. I will be on the smallest dosage possible and takign half a pill.
hello, yes i have taken clomid. i'm a type 1 diabetic and yes i got pregnant 3 times on it. Ask away if you have questions oh and the fist time i had a miscarrige at 12 weeks, the second time i had a baby boy health at 40 weeks and 3 days and the 3rd time i had twins!!! boys at 34 weeks and healthy but deliverd because the stupid doctor made a horrible mistake and almost killed my twins being early but they survived and are healthy boys. : )
I took clomid for my first child and got pregnant on the first cycle with it. It did not impact my blood sugars, but the ovulatory stimulant I had to inject the day of ovulation did - sent me into the 400s that night, but it was a one-time thing.
Well, I'm on my third round of Clomid. First time took 50mg, had "very little eggs" as the doctor put it. 100mg of Clomid I had no eggs at all. They're having me take 200mg this time and I'm hoping something will happen. What did everyone do if Clomid didn't work for you?
