I feel awful, fat, huge, disgusting, weighted down. I have gained up to 114- 6 pounds in one week!!! My bg has been pretty good- had numbers of 108 and 112 yesterday but… I’m sooo discouraged. Encouragement, anyone???
How tall are you anyway Briar???
I am 5’3…so 114 is not overweight but I’m just scared by being over 110.
I’m 5’7"…I’m now 127 and don’t like to go over 130! To you that might sound overweight…but it isn’t…my BMI is 20, which is low normal. I exercise…so muscles weighs more than fat. Follow your BMI…but don’t get wrapped up in it. If I were to slip over 130, it’s not the end of the world…it’ll come down again. My weight fluctuates a lot. So what’s the point of obsessing…life is too valuable and too short to put all of my thoughts into my weight.
Linda, that doesn’t sound overweight to me AT ALL! I’m much bigger than that since I’m only 5’3!
No, you’re not…I’m only 4 inches taller than you. Your weight is FINE! As well…I’m not saying I’m overweight, even if I were to go up the 3 pounds to 130…it’s more an issue of feeling more comfortable at around 125. When we were married in 1979, I had lost weight, out of sheer stress over the wedding prep. I went from 120 to 103 and looked like a skeleton!
Hi Briar-Rose. How are you feeling today? I read that you’re getting discouraged by some weight gain, but you must keep in mind that the weight that is so rapidly coming back is the weight that your body NEEDS to gain back. Once you get your strength back, you could start doing some sort of exercise to keep your body toned. Dancing, running, aerobics, etc.
There’s a calorie count site too that can help you track what you’re eating to help you gaige if you are eating all the nutrients you need to survive in a healthy body. This way, you can make sure that what you do put into your body counts toward your “good” calories for the day. That will help to stabilize your weight gain a little bit.
Don’t forget that the weight you are gaining is the weight your body was missing. You need this. Right?
