The SPIbelt is our all time favorite pouch for my daughter's pump. Small, low profile, comfortable. We call it her 'speedo' since it's made out of the same material. website is www.spibelt.com. two discount codes: 'bday2010' gives you 15% off OR ship09 is for free shipping.
They've got a special pump belt now that has a separate hole for tubing. I don't bother with those, but just pick from the cool kids designs. Highly recommend this for active kids on pumps.
I have really looked into the spibelt but have not made the decison. I was worried about the belt crimping the tube. You mentioned you didn’t bother with the one made for pump - is that because the regular one works so well. ??
I think the one for pumps comes only in black (a drawback for my 7 year old girly girl!). We just loop the extra tubing up, tuck it in the pouch, and then leave the zipper about 1/4 inch open. Never had a problem with crimped tubing.
Got it todoy - looks like it will be a nice fit for the pump. Now trying to determine if I want to take the rubber skin off or not . I got the free shipping. Ordered it 2 days ago and it said it would take 7. Nice surprise.
My daughter got her spibelt yesterday. Great fit for the pump. She was happy that it didn’t bounce while she was at basketball practice. The customer service is great too. I made a mistake on my order, sent an email and it was corrected in no time.
I have an almost 4 year old and I talked to the Spibelt people and they said they don’t make the diabetic pouch in kids sizes but that for kids people just have the tubing come out of the zipper like you said. I am going to order one from the US to Canada today.
I will let you know how it goes. My boy is extremely active. He is upside down, on the trampoline, running around, wrestling with his brother. We start on the pump AUG 24/10 so I’ll let you all know after that.
My son is a very active 7 year old on the ping. He has a SPI Belt (the regular kind, not the diabetic kind), and we love it. We just stick the tubing out the end of the zipper instead of zipping it all the way shut. It stays in place really well, and the fabric conforms to the size of the pump so it’s not any bigger than it has too be. It is our favorite pump pack so far.
Hi all. Just my two cents worth. My 7 year old son has been on the pump for a year now. I have a draw full of pouches , sleves etc - none in use. What works for us is : cut a sock ( his old worn out ones ) in to half, neaten up the edges and saw it by hand to the inside rim of shorts, payama, pants, even the swimmimng costume. The latest one was sawn in to the dry suit he uses when sailing. He has the soks in all his clothes now - no belts etc and since it is worn on the inside of the garment - it is very snug and does not fall out. When you need it , just flipp the sock out and over the top , bolus and put it back Soks that fit 6 year old boys feet are just the right size for Animas pump - hope it helps.
