Dexcom - two failed TRANSMITTERS in less than 2 weeks

I am brand new to Dexcom and my first two transmitters failed in less than two weeks. Both are from the same Lot. Has anyone else had this happen? Does this happen often?

So discouraged.

We had one transmitter fail to work and it was indeed very frustrating. It is one out of many, so the exception, not the rule for us. Has Dexcom provided any feedback about the problem?

Don’t sweat it, @Jo127. Did you talk to Dexcom? They will replace them for free, along with the sensors. I have had 1 transmitter fail before, DOA, but that’s it. The only problem is the aggravation:-) Make sure to call them, their support number is 24x7. Keep the faith! Your life will change with these extraordinary tools.

Are you speaking about transmitters or sensors?

Call Dexcom, they will take care of you.

I’ve only had one transmitter fail - and tat took a little while before it did. I’ve had several sensors fail along the way - sometimes my fault, sometimes not. Dexcom has replaced them all - even if I’d done something wrong . The even replaced one that was just “uncomfortable.” They’ll make good – don’t be discourages @Jo127!

Been using the G4 for about 4 years and have never had this happen. That being said, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be. But Dexcom has great customer service. Give them a call and good luck!

I would be discouraged, too! I’ve been using Dexcom systems and transmitters for almost eight years now. i have yet to experience a transmitter failure. Like others have already said, Dexcom customer service will take care of you. I’ve even called them when I had the occasional sensor hit a blood vessel on insertion and spoil the site. They replaced those sensors as well.

I trust all your transmitter bad luck is now behind you!

Wow, that is amazing. I SO want an extra backup after the 100% failure rate of the first two, but this will help to know that they stand by their product.

Thank you so much for the offer. If this continues, I may just reach out. This has been such a bad experience thusfar and we travel a lot where shipping one to us is not always possible. To go back to picking the finger and guessing if I’m going up or down scares me now! :slight_smile:
