Diabetes Phone Apps

I was wondering how many of you out there use a phone app to track all the info we as diabetics should be tracking. If so, what app are you using (and is it iPhone, android, BB, etc)? The one I use is called OnTrack and it’s on Android. It gives me one place to keep up with all my stuff such as glucose, weight, exercise, medication, food (no carb counts built in to it though), HbA1c and a few other things. It will also make graphs so it’s ready to spot trends and track progress. They can be emailed or exported too. It’s handy to me because I’ve almost always got my phone with me and I’ve never been good at keeping a logbook or journal with pen and paper. A few screen shots below.

I just got an iPhone. I’m wondering if there is a favorite diabetes app for type 1/iPhone users?

I also used "On Track" when on MDI, Now I let my pump keep up with things, It store carbs and bolus' for each meal. I really liked the "On Track" app for my Android phone and I believe its available for I-phone also. You can track more than just food and insulin with "On Track", things such as Blood pressure readings, weight, and exercise in addition the carbs and insulin

I use the "Track 3" app on my iphone. Not sure why it's called that, or how I found it, but it's super useful. I track my insulin taken, my blood sugars, my exercise, and what I eat - I even add notes about when I changed my CGM sensor or my pump site, tho that has to be attached to a BG reading or an insulin entry. When I'm ready for my logs I can email it to myself and it emails me a text spreadsheet (separated by type like food log or blood sugar/insulin log) which I can open in excel or a PDF with my entire log combined into one (which I find incredibly useful). The app lets you customize all of your possible time periods (I have a million...) and even has options for oral meds if you take those (I don't, so I haven't messed with that option at all).

I use MyNetDiary D. It allows me to scan bar codes, keep track of BG, insulin and exercise (which I don't bother). But It does give me a good shot of keeping track of carbs, as I'm a newbie.

I am not neutral but I recommend our Glucosurfer App for Android and Windows Phone: Bolus Wizard that supports neutral carbs and activity, Insulin on Board calculation, another take on the Analysis.

I just started using GlucoseBuddy, a free app for my iPhone. Seems useful but need more time to evaluate it

my pump tracks my sugars and my insulin and my onboard insulin so I really don't need an ap for all that. The crazy thing is the DEXCOM AP that does everything except take glucose readings from a dex sensor. It seems to me like that is the one thing it should do. Then the receiver could be left home and I would just have a phone to carry anyway.IT seems like a no brainer, but then again its the FDA that makes that difficult I am sure.

I´m on MDI and use an app called RapidCalc on my iPod Touch. Does everything a pump would do including keeping track of insulin on board. Works with both iPhones and iPads too.

William Dubois from the blog "LifeAfterDx" used this when om MDI, so I thought I should give it a try too. Works for me.

Here´s the link for the app:

Been using Glucosurfer on my Android tablet and on the web for a couple of months. Its quite useful. I like the bolus wizard. The neutral carbs addition to the calculation seems to have reduced the number of late afternoon lows I was having.

Thank you Mr. Schmeken.

What is neutral carbs?

It would be the grams of carbohydrate you need to rise to your target BG value. These are subtracted from the carbohydrates you are bolusing for. For example, my rate is about 3mg/ml for each gram of carb. Lets say my target is a BG of 100. If I was about to bolus for 40 grams, and by BG was 70, I would subtract 10 grams of neutral carbs before calculating my bolus.

It seemed odd when I first read about it, but my readings are better since I started using the Glucosurfer bolus calculation. Its only been a few months, so its hard to say for sure.

I'm using Diabetes App on my iPhone.
Loving it.
