Joanie,Very nice! I could try something like this!
can you buy just the medical alert charm with all your info on it?? if so you could then make your own bracelet with all the fancy beads craft stores have these days for jewlery making. you could have one to match every outfit!!
Yes, from Medic Alert! Very cute stuff!
i’m gonna have to check those out…
i currently wear a medic alert bracelet but it’s boring
thats a cool bracelet
me too. I hate it!
me too. what i really hate are those big bulky necklaces they make with the huge thick chains. what do they think diabetics don’t have any fashion sense??
I always want to take mine off,but then I think that would be the time I really needed it!
Thats it for now…
Am a machinist and wont let a machine catch any kind of jewelry and suck me into machine…
I want to get a medic alert emblem to put on my keyring incase I am low so a cop wont beat the crap out of me thinking I am being deligerant or drunk.
I think this would be kind of cool as well…

You CAN get a more expensive Medic Alert in gold (I don’t know if it’s plated). Just call Medic Alert and ask them for a catalog. I don’t wear my bracelet often because it bugs the heck out of me because of the problems I have with fibromyalgia and carpal tunnel. I even went into beading to make a few 'bracelets" for it, but I keep taking it off for dishes and forgetting to put it back on.

I’m thinking that wearing a diabetic dog tag or bracelet is a better idea than taping info to one’s driver’s license like I did.
Using my printer, I printed: “I have Diabetes
Januvia 100 mg
ICE call [hubby’s name & phone numbers]”
in red on yellow paper, cut it out, and scotch taped it vertically to the front right-hand side of my license, which I’m sure is a no-no. The taped info blocks out part of the state name & logo.
There’s plenty of blank space on the back of my license for chronic disease medical info, such as “Diabetes”, next to “Restriction(s): B - Corrective Lenses” but I was afraid no one would flip it over in an emergency. It’s a shame states don’t include any chronic disease medical info on driver’s licenses. Also, my keys are attached to a medical alert key-ring that simply says “Diabetic.”
Please do not laugh at me…
I am on vacation and… well…
I went to wet and wild water park in THESE and a bathingsuit
it worked… and was kind of cute!! I wore the diabetic ones
Hi Arturo,
We have this very good and long discussion about the topic Do you Wear Medical ID jewelry?
Also, if you are thinking on a tattoo there is a Inked Diabetics Group you may want to visit and/or join, where you can get some ideas.
AHHHHH so you were the HOT Diabetic who wanted some Sugah…
Was wondering if that was you Cynthia!!
yes the little round one that resembled buddah - hobbling pretending to frolic in the water
I wear a medical bracelet, but it’s more of a wristband. (like livestrong, etc.)
it says “DIABETIC” and “Novolog & Lantus Insulin”
I’ve had other bracelets where my name was on there also, but I’ve gone through so many of those that I needed to try something new.
this wristband doesn’t break easily, and it isn’t obnoxious. works for me.
FYI I spoke with a medic about how to ID yourself and they said that unless there’s something on your neck or wrist don’t assume they know what a pump is and they won’t check your wallet.
