Do You Know That

...today, Nov. 14, is World Diabetes Day? This day was chosen because it is the birthday of Dr. Frederick Banting, the man who discovered insulin.

The link below shows how the children at a Canadian school are celebrating Diabetes Day, and honoring Dr. Banting.

I knew that the 14th was WDD but not until about a week ago did I know that it was Dr Banting's b-day

Doris, I will have to admit that I did not know that either, until this month.

LOL! Now I don't feel so all alone! LOL!

Hi Richard. Thanks for the link. I love the photos we're getting here on TuD of World Diabetes Day.

didn't know that

I knew that but it was only about 2 years ago that I found out. If it wasn't for the DOC, I wouldn't know anything!

Kelly, I started learning from the DOC in July, 2006. I had been type 1 for 61 years befor that, and now I realize I knew very little about diabetes management beforehand. that seems ridiculous, but it is true. My doctors were not very well informed themselves, but I did nor realize it at that time.
