has anyone out there been able load the ez manager software on a mac? i have tried 3 sets of discs. even had someone rewrite the data on the disc on a new disc by burning slower to see if that was a problem. nothing. now my last resort is to have someone load the software onto a jump drive and then i can load it from the jump drive. this will of course happen on a windows pc. does that mean it will only load pc compatible software onto the jump, and will i then be attempting to load pc software onto a mac? if anyone has been able to load the software to a mac, per haps you could burn a copy of that disc. i would be more than happy to forward my address and pay to have it shipped to me. desperate times, desperate measures. or, perhaps someone could explain why animas does not have the software available for download from their website. the user guide is, which by the way my mac has no trouble reading at all.
There are various threads around the forum based on this question. basically, it doesnt work well. I have been able to get my software loaded no problem. Its just during the data download part were it fails. it freezes my computer and i need to hard re-start it. I have been able to get the pump data downloaded fully only once. Animas told me they dont have a time frame for a fix. I would not hold my breath waiting. I dual boot into XP to run the software. Its a PITA to be honest.
Animas should just stop pretending their software is compatible with Mac OS X. I never did get it to intall on two different iMacs, one with 10.5.8 and one with 10.6.2.
i spoke to a gentleman employed by animas who is a mac user and a pumper, (i assume animas), who spoke on the condition of anonymity. he says that he has never gotten it to work. However, he said that they are not having any problems with it in the US. now, i don’t know if animas just says that so they can say that it works somewhere, or if it does not translate from american to canadian. have they sent us faulty discs. i of course am joking,(or am i?). but wouldn’t it make sense that if they had a working copy of it somewhere that they would just post it on the website for us to download. then we would not have these loading problems. but then we may just find that the software we can not download really does not work. can someone tell me what the “EZ” stands for in EZmanager?
I am currently using Ez manager on my Mac. I am running Mac OS 10.5 and it seems to be working fine. I have had issues when I am downloading the information from my pump but as long as I make sure that my pump doesn’t go to sleep, it seems to work OK.
I just got a new disc in the mail from Animas on May 27 and it loaded onto my iMac running 10.6 just fine. The old disc I had did not work and it was massively frustrating dealing with Animas on it. It seems they may have finally fixed it. I tested the software to import data from the Ping Meter and it was fine but I haven’t yet tested it to import data from the pump. If you want, I can try send you the .dmg file to you.
Regards,
Liam
Well, it loaded okay but EZ Manager kept causing weird behaviour of my 10.6 iMac so I removed the program. The import from the pump was very slow, proceeded for about 10 minutes, got about 50% done then it would just stop and lose connectivity and I had to force quit the app. Yes, I made sure the pump did not go to sleep. So now I guess I wait until they maybe get it working on 10.6 as well as 10.5.
