G6 'restarts not allowed' error message on new sensor

could it be that a sensor that lasts longer than 10 days becomes error prone? Or could it be a condition for FDA approval because of unpredictable readings sometime after the 10 days?

This is precisely why Dexcom made restarting the sensor more difficult. Somewhere on this forum - 18-24 months ago - I posted a link that described the efforts Dexcom had to go thru to gain FDA approval for the G6.

The FDA specified that Dexcom technologists were required to design and implement firmware that made it difficult for users to restart the sensor after 10 days. They were also mandated to continually monitor and improve the anti-restart algorithm with future generations of the G6.
