I’m hoping to start the t-slim soon. Any feedback would be great! What sets people prefer, the length off the changing set process, the pros and cons…anything!
Thanks

Lovin, I just started the T-slim in September of last year - LOVE IT! I use the inset infusion sets (pink) and I have only had 2 since that time that messed up. One was blood in the canula and one when the canula didn't go in straight and kinked. Both really operator error I guess, but that's a pretty good track record as I change every 3 days. They are very comfortable, too. I don't think the insets are in the brochure for the T-slim, but they do offer them. I think it is actually the Animas brand. Just ask the customer service about them and they will give you all the details. They come in pink, lime green, and blue. Hope this helps!
Pros: good looking. touch screen makes inputting carbs and bg easy, intuitive interface.
Cons: too many button presses, priming is slow, no replaceable battery, times out too quickly, manual restart required after priming.
Infusion sets - Animas. I prefer the angled sets.
I was allergic to the Cleo which was really weird as I've not been allergic to anything else. I switched to the T sets and did not care for them. They detached too easily (which is what they are supposed to do so you don't pull your set out by accident if it gets caught on something or your pump falls) but mine would detach when I was sleeping so not good. I finally went to the Animas insets too and those have been the best yet. I like how thin it is and how it doesn't look like a pump. It is kind of a lot of button pushing and it drives me CRAZY when it times out during a fill (I have it set to 2 minutes but I know it times out before that), but I still prefer it over my old Minimed and Omnipod.
Thanks! Do those sets use an inserter? How long does it take u to change the set and stuff?
They have an inserter built in. It’s never hurt me to use them. It used to take me about 20 minutes to change, but now that I’m used to it - 10 minutes tops.
This is my first pump so I have nothing to compare, but I am in love! I use the comfort short and it works for me, also the shorter tubing. I don’t use one of those automatic things–I don’t like surprises! I am experimenting with changing the site every 3 days, but the cartridge every week, so a full change takes 10 minutes and a partial change takes a few minutes. There is an active Facebook group for tslim that has been very helpful for me. I have seen a few issues regarding air bubbles, but I have not had any issues and I have had the pump since early December. If you need any further info let me know and I will answer to the best of my ability!
