How long with good numbers?

What is your longest run of not having a blood sugar of over 150 and not below an 80?

Mine is about 1/2 a day.

I suck at this. :frowning:

before pregnancy several months… now… maybe 3 days

Same here. And if it ever does happen, I test about every 20 minutes because I’m sure there’s no way my blood sugars could possibly remain that good for very long. I keep thinking they’re going to go up or down, so I check and check. Until, eventually, something happens and they go up or down, and I think, “Whew, good thing I obsessed about my sugars for the past 5 hours.”

I suck at this too…

You are not alone. just when I think I’ve got it all figured out, the BG goes haywire.

You don’t suck…diabetes does!!

There was one day it was really settled, then the next it was away again.

I am the same, Karen. I actually had one day this month where I was in the range all day. I was shocked, and could not attribute it to anything but luck. I test 10 times a day, and my a1c has been in the 6s for a long time.

Usually its like a rollercoaster, i never have my bgs undercontrol :frowning:

However today is an exception, when i woke up it was 150, remaining within 100-110 throughout the day and the last time i checked it was 90 something =D what a wonderful day!!

Amen, Di

Haven’t had a perfect day yet. My best day was when it was below 200. I’m working on getting there though =]

One or two days because I have a low (around 60) almost every day. Knowing that my lows are always mid-afternoon, I decreased my lunch bolus very slightly two days ago & shot up to 187, eating the exact the same thing.

You don’t suck at this! If you do, then we all do:)

Hi Elyse,

Same here. BG will be pretty much fine all day & dinner does me in, even with low carb. I cringe taking post dinner readings. Would be great if I could eat the largest meal for lunch, but my schedule doesn’t work this way.

I KNOW. On these miracle days, our diabetes forgets to annoy us, maybe it’s busy thinking up somthing for the nextday, if we could just programme it into permanent forgetfulness, we’d be laughing. Don’t suppose that has made much sense.

Perfect sense

Lately I’ve been with ya…in the 1/2 a day club. I think we may be due for a good streak. (Fingers crossed for a whole day of happy #'s or at least 3/4

Half a day, you hit the nail on the head! LOL.

half a day sounds right, but if i’m really trying hard i don’t think “high numbers” are evil. the numbers are there to guide us and show us how to improve for NEXT time. If any numbers are evil it’s those pesky lows!

i’ve gone the past week with no bloodsugar over 150, however i’ve been having alot of lows with that so it doesnt count haha

26 hours, tested 10 times.

(Of course, I’ve had lots of days when I SEEMED to be having a good run, but who knows what my blood sugars were doing after I ate!)

Thanks, all, for the encouragement and the reminder that staying in the zone (70/80-120/130 mg/dl and 140/180 mg/dl 2 hrs post prandial) is a goal, not a certainty.

I could actually go a few weeks without a high number over 150. I am not sure if it’s because my pancrea’s is still working. I try to control it as much as possible. The only time I have wacky numbers is when Aunt Dottie comes for her visit.

three days…mostly I am doing fine in this but somehow I always manage it to go over the 150 once every three days…strange fact, mostly in the evening
