Low Carb Food Review For The Second Week In A Row!

We promise we’ll get back to some awesome sugar free drinks and sugar free snacks very soon, but we couldn’t help ourselves. We were going to make some chili last week and went on a mission to find a low carb tomato sauce. We didn’t have to look any further than Ragu Light No Sugar Added Tomato & Basil Sauce. It’s a good, all-purpose sauce that really went well with our chili. I’d really be interested in hearing from anyone else who has found low carb tomato sauces.

The Glucoholic’s (In)famous Quick Turkey, Mushroom, and Kidney Bean Chili

Ingredients

One pound of low fat ground turkey browned and drained
One pack chili seasoning mix
One cup kidney beans with juice
One jar Ragu Light No Sugar Added Tomato & Basil Sauce
One small can sliced mushrooms
A pinch of oregano

Notes

After draining the turkey, evenly mix all the ingredients above and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer at least ten minutes. I’ve tried this making my own seasoning mix, and never seem to create anything that is as good as the packets you buy in the store. Also, no matter how long you let it simmer, you will never get the full flavor until the chili has been allowed to sit in the refrigerator over night. I’ve found this is true for anything with beans as an ingredient.

Drop me a line and let me know if you tried the recipe, and what you thought!
