Migration update: it begins today!

WOOHOOO!!!!! Today is the first official day of the TuDiabetes site migration!!

This week we are downloading the content and members from this site so that our developers can port us all over to the new website, which is scheduled to launch on April 20th. On April 20th when you come to www.TuDiabetes.org you will find yourself on a beautiful new website, designed to be MUCH more user-friendly, intuitive and informative. We can't wait!!

This means two things for us right now:

1. Most of the content added to this site from today until the launch will NOT port over to the new site. This means that our conversations over the next 2 weeks will not show up any more after April 20th. If you write something you want to save, please save it on your own computer and re-post it after April 20. (Reminder: your photos and videos will not come with us to the new site, either. Please save them on your personal computer if you want to keep them).

2. We are not accepting new members to TuDiabetes from now until the new site launches. Instead, we will collect email addresses of people who want to join us, and send invitations to them to apply to the new site after April 20.

Uh-huh. Emily you do realize don't you that there is nothing "to see" on our end of the process at the moment. From where I sit the TuDiabetes migration process is a lot like trying to watch seeds germinate. ;-)

Yeah ... I've got a nervous feeling about that one.

While I don't expect anyone is going to lose any body parts from the trauma, my gut tells me there are going to be at least some folks who are totally surprised that the post(s) they made during the migration interlude are missing from the new site come April 20'th (or so). I'd wait a day or three after the 20'th before taking off your migration battle armor. ;-)

Thanks for all the hard work!!! Can’t wait for the new site! I’ll be a mobile only user so it will be fun to see how that works.

It's like Christmas and birthday coming together with lots of gifts to be opened. :-)
