Minimed 530g

I ordered my revel a bit ago and it was processed just before Medtronics announce that the 530g was approved for the US. So I guess I was at the head of the line for upgrades, mine came in today and I go in for training Thursday. It is not the pump so much as it is the new enlite sensors. I like my dexcom but it was next to impossible for me to get the sensors. I had a valid prescription, my insurance would pay but I kept running into companies that lied, tricked, and were unethical while ordering sensors.

Long story short I am excited, and will let everyone know how things go.

p.s. I would have just transferred the settings myself but Medtronic basically made me "pinky-swear" that I would get trained as part of some FDA monitoring program.

Cool. Let us know how the new pump and sensors are going. My pump went out of warranty yesterday and Medtronic called today to start the paperwork for the new pump. I will post when I get the pump whichever one the insurance company approves. I am type 2 and not sure whether they will approve the sensor part. So the fall back is the Revel.

Well give the sensors time they might come under drug coverage. And T2's can need cgm's if you need it fight for it.

Went to my Endo and well they were not trained to set up the 530g's yet. The Receptionist did not let the pump trainer know which pump. So I have it and will be waiting till the 30th when a minimed rep will be in the office to train.

Looks like I'm getting the 530G. Just the doc has to sign the papers and letter of necessity and I should have it sometime next week. Keeping my fingers crossed. I think the sensors would be good since in the last month since my last doctor's visit I have been trying to keep tighter control and I have been getting some lows. It would be nice to see those coming and the highs too.
