Mobile Bolus and BG on Watch?

Does anyone have the mobile bolus and blood glucose display on their smart watch using a single phone. I’m more interested in the Samsung than the Apple but anyone running both apps on either phone type, please respond.

I am not sure what you mean by mobile bolus… I have an android Samsung Galaxy phone, and Classic Galaxy watch. I have downloaded watch faces from the WatchMaker web site (free), and have even created and posted some watch faces. All watch faces will show BG, and some show additional data; such as, graphs of BG, statistics, change in BG, trend arrow, and change color over range of BG. Some will show insulin on board. All require xDRIP+ be run on your phone.

xDRIP+ processes data from a number of CGM devices, such as Dexcom, Libre, and Guardian; all can be displayed on the watch.

Go to the WatchMaker web site and search for xDrip, or CGM, Dexcom, or Libre.

FitBit will also have watch faces with the same types of data, and there are a couple that can get the data directly from the Dexcom app.

It is nice to glance at your watch and see the time and your BG.

Are you trying to initiate a bolus from your watch? There are lots of ways to get BG displayed on watches, but there is absolutely no commercial pump right now that is allowing a watch to initiate a mobile bolus. There’s only just barely a few options to do that from a phone! We’re still a long way off from adding watches onto the compatible device list for that.

If you’re interested in DIY looping options, though, you can definitely bolus from a compatible watch that way. On a Samsung device, AndroidAPS is your best option. You can read all about compatible watch and pump options on the “AndroidAPS Read The Docs” site.

If you’re on a Tandem pump, there’s one more option but it’s still in beta testing and a little rough. It hasn’t been tested on many devices. There’s a developer that goes by JWoglom who has cracked the T:slim security, so you should be able to bolus from just about ANY Android device and Wear OS watch. He’s made an app called ControlX2 to do so, which can be found on GitHub here: GitHub - jwoglom/controlX2: Android + Wear OS application for Tandem insulin pumps

You can access Mobil bolus on the tandem ap if you have it on your watch and on your phone. I have it on mine, but I can’t see it well enough to actually bolus. So I use my phone, but when the mobi comes up, I will possibly buy a bigger Apple Watch and do it from there. I think I remember having to talk to apple care to get it configured

To all, I have a Galaxy Watch 4 and use it to display blood glucose using Dexcom Share and the G-Watch Wear App on my Pixel 2 XL phone with Android 12. That uses up both of the possible Bluetooth connections on an Android phone. The phone may need replacing soon and I was wondering if I replace it with one of the Samsung phones approved by Tandem for Mobile Bolus it would work without disrupting getting my BG reading on my watch which I find very useful and convenient.
Thanks to Robyn_H for the info about JWoglom and his ControlX2 app. I’ve been on the lookout for the security to be broken to allow Mobile Bolus on more Android phones. I will go to GitHub and read up on it. I tried to make my Pixel look like an appropriate Samsung phone but even though Google Play thought I had a Samsung S21 the t:connect app was not fooled.

I have the G7 on my iPhone and Apple Watch. But, I don’t use it for bolus because it is not always accurate. I use a finger stick for bolus. I have hypoglycemic unawareness, so the G7 is important for me.

I installed J. Woglom’s ControlX2 app on my phone and it works very well. I haven’t bolus’ed from my Galaxy Watch 4 yet but it also has a watch face complication for blood glucose display. Reading the discussion on Discord, he has T1 and develops Android apps.

Is this what you are looking for?

Thanks. I will take a look at it. I just glanced at it and it looks promising.
