My Omnipod came in the mail today!

Here I go. I meet with my DE on Thursday at 8:00 AM to do my training for my first ever pump. I opened the box with excitement and trepidation. Pulled out each and every box, covered the PDM with with silicone sleeve, looked through the little book that comes with. I am like a kid at Christmas. I have to wait a little more than a day before I can finally dive in. So what questions do I need to ask the day of the training? For starters, I don't really know how much I need to bolus for meals. I don't know how to calculate that. Also, I know that when I tried Victoza and Byetta I got huge hives on my belly. To the point I could no longer use them. Do I need to put Nasonex on my skin, like others here have suggested? How many times a day will I need to check my bs? What else? I will take a list of questions with me so that I don't forget anything.

I have been watching videos on Youtube of kids attaching their own pod, and programming the PDM. You little ones are my heroes! I decided that if the kids can do it, I can too. I realize my T2 is not the same as the T1, but I so admire the kids who just make this part of their lives, and the parents who help get them through each and every day.

I'll check back with you all on Thursday when I am all plugged in!
