I got a lot of responses to my crossfit-style World Diabetes Day workout video. So I decided to blog a bit more about my workouts. I posted it here--
the gist of it--
Exercise is essential for both type1 and type2 diabetics... and for all human beings! So I dont let my world traveling stop me from exercising. Occasional stop by a gym while I'm backpacking around the world. But its not always necessary. You can do a lot for your fitness with your own body, and a few items if you have. I carry gymnastic rings and a jump rope with me, but you can even do without that. Here are some of my exercises--
- Pushups
- Situps
- Squats
- Lunges
- Pistols (1 legged squats!)
- Pullups (if you have rings or find a bar somewhere, soccer goal posts work great!)
- Dips
- Wall handstand pushups
- Running
- Swimming
- Jumping (find a park bench or rock)
- Jump Rope
