Preferred Lancing Device

It has taken me a long time, but I like the Accucheck Multicix. I set it on 3.5. What lancing device do you prefer?

I was a long time user of the Multiclix but now use the FastClix set on 4. They are similar but the newer FastClix has a little lever that changes the lancet instead of twisting at the top and there is no priming prior to lancing. You just press down on the plunger in one step. I like this feature the most since I've been testing for so many years, my fingers have become very calloused and hard to get blood from at times. In those cases, it saves a step if I need to re-prick the finger. Both are great and easy on the fingers.

Thanks Stacey, as I did get a Fastclix too, but have so many lancets to use still with my Multiclix I figure, I'd wait and was wondering what the improvement was. I am finding more and more people have had the same experience as I ourselves liking the accucheck lancing devices.

Multiclix - I use anywhere between 1 and 2.5 :)

Multiclix set to three.

I'm a Multiclix user as well and have transferred it over through several meters. I have mine set at 5 which might have something to do with the fact that I change it once in a blue moon. Great to hear the Fastclix skips a step, Stacy; I'll get one when I use up the Multiclix discs which I believe I have since I first started testing in 2007!

Same...Multicix set it on 3.5.

I will have to try this Multiclix lancing device. I've always used OneTouch brands. I use the OneTouch Delica and like how gentle it is on my fingers.

I change lacets on mine probably once a month. Huge improvement over how often I used to change them before the Multiclix!

Given the one-step nature of the Fastclix, I'm curious if it's still possible to reuse lancets. I think having to change the drum more than once a day would drive me crazy if it's not possible to reuse them.

Thanks everyone, for the feedback. I kind of went nuts when I paid $47 for just the lancing device when I lost mine on amazon. I am sure I got ripped off, but I was so missing it vs. all my backups, I would have done anything. Hence, I wanted to know if I was crazy or everyone else feels the same way too and prefer the Mutliclix. I am in line with the response so far!

That was my turn off to the Fastclix when I got it ; ) . I find no problem reusing a 6 drum Multi many times!

Yes, my endo said a lot of people prefer the Delica. I should try it.

Has anyone seen the Tiniboy lancet. It is supposed to fit any lancing device, but someone on the page has written in and said they just prick their finger with the lancet, less painful than using a lancing device.

I am really hoping my Multiclix never breaks or gets lost. It's a black one which I really like and think is harder to find than the normal blue and white one!

Yup, no black I could find paid a high price for the blue! Do not lose! I have done this twice and this is my lesson!

I prefer the B-D Ultrafine system. I HATE lancets, especially when they are powered by something spring-loaded. They have a relatively large blade that, in my opinion, hurts more than any other diabetes regimen. I gave up on the whole concept about twenty years ago, when I started just using an old syringe. It's much less painful and perfectly sufficient---especially now that blood requirements are so much smaller. I guess I'm just a wimp, but I wouldn't go back to lancets, even if I were paid to do so. I guess I'm just a wimp.

Wait, I'm confused. This Fastclix isn't a drum with 6 lancets in it?

No, I agreem its my biggest anxiety/hangup too! I also thought I was the only one who suffered this anxiety. I rather have 100 Pap smears! ; )

Well, I'm not in a great position to make that kind of comparison, but I guess I can honestly say that drawing blood with a spring-loaded lancet is far worse than any pap smear I ever had.

Multiclix but I use it alternate site and the darn clear cap for that keeps cracking. Maybe my fault but aggravating. This thread was a great idea am thinking now about the fastclix.
