The pump told me to change battery. I did, then I rewind, load, primed, Filled Cannula at least several times today...I lost 20 units after I changed the battery as that is what i had left. I changed the infusion set and the cartidge as well. It still makes me do a reqind, etc...Ive done this 3 times after I did the inital one. I so far has lost over 30 units. Does anyone else have this issue?? I only had the pump for 2 years already
Sounds like you did all the right things, and the pump's gone wonky. I just changed my battery yesterday, did the rewind, load, prime, fill cannula and had no problem with it. It is really annoying that changing the battery frequently results in wasting insulin.
Carefully check the battery cap. If it is loose, you may see this as the pump reboots and reboots as connection is made and then broken again. If the battery cap is snug, unscrew it an examine it closely. Any missing or corroded parts? Rub a cotton swab along the mating surfaces. Any dirt or dust? If this still happens, swap out the old battery cap for your spare. Still no joy? Call Animas and see what they say. FWIW, had the same problem here and it was a battery cap issue. (Reminder: replace batt cap and reservoir nut every six months. They are a failure item and parts are cheap!)
thanks guys....I havent bought newer ones because I cant afford it. I'm hoping my new diabetes supplier can help with that..I know the battery cap is snugged. and same for the reservoir part.
Is it saying that you need to re-prime or just rewind?
Welp!!! It kept doing it today so I called tech support and tomorrow ill be getting a new Kermit (my pump is green so I named it Kermit)…and I’ve had this one for 2 years…I have to send the old one back…hopefully the new Kermit will behave

thanks! I like to name my stuff. I know its weird but it makes it unique...I named my new laptop which is a mac casanova because I am in love with it. It is easier for me to work on than my netbook. And it has the things I need to do better than a windows PC. I need to find time to send back kermit. Ive been trying to get to the UPS store. I am hoping tomorrow or Friday.
When I got the mac at an apple store, a few stores down was a microsoft store. I laughed. There were more ppl in the apple store than that store.
