Pump warning me to prime

I’m the same way, Kelly. Either my skin gets welts or the site deteriorates and my #s start inching higher for no reason.

And I have to journal it all as well, since I have CRS these days.

Amy - I won’t use anything but steel - the teflon makes me itch like crazy, making me wanna tear out the set!

Cheri

Yep, that’s what it is! Are you going to fine tune your own doses now or wait for April 4th. I figured you’d gotten pretty sick of waiting on those people by now!

Cheri, I am glad I am not the only one that has to write this stuff down. It is hard keeping up with it!

I have seen some people say they leave the steel sets in for 3 days but I don’t know how they do that.

I can’t leave any set in for 3 days, steel or not - but since I journal everything anyway - what I eat, my test #s (10 to 12 times a day), etc., I just add the set changes. I use a small notebook - a page a day - and add at the top of the page (in red ink) when I change sets.

I was interested in your remarks about Apidra. That’s what I use, too - and I live in Florida where it gets very, very hot. So what did you mean by the fact that the heat “breaks down” the insulin? It loses it’s power? Or goes bad? If you change your cartridge every day and a half, I’m guessing you don’t fill it each time, right?

I’ve also read in the manual that CHANGES IN TEMPERATURE can cause the pump to “loose prime”. I think the “loose cap” is the most common, though. I’ve been using the Ping for over two years, and only had that happen to me once.

Yep this has happened to me twice, I have since DISABLED the AUTO off feature and it has not given me the dreaded prime message!

PING rocks… you will be spoiled!
