Sausage rolls, swans ducks river boat and history

The weekend was wonderful here in the Shire blue skies slight ruffle of the wind on your face for a bank holiday Whitsun it was nice Angel's sister Brenda came to stay and we drove to Ironbridge on Monday lots and lots of other folks had the same idea as we the River Severn flowed under the Bridge and there was even a cruise on the river for those energetic enough to climb on and off the boat.
It is like walking into the past crossing the Bridge until you look downstream at the power station cooling towers where once stood iron foundries bellowing out flames from hell it must have been for those who worked long hours for little or nothing standing on the bridge looking to the town you see lots and lots of places to eat, places to buy gifts even a charity shop high above the shops in the parade sits a church looking down and out to it's flock no idea what the vicar/priest would have made of all the summer clothing backpacks pushchairs and folks like me hobbling about out of breath.
We sat on the river bank on the way back to the car park although there is a free park and ride to and from the Ironbridge well worth taking the effort to use it traffic calming measures mean you are up and down over ramps all along the high street and with parking on both sides for most of the road overtaking can be a problem which time soon resolves most folks are happy to let you go a raised hand in thanks usually brings a warm response my blood sugars were raised a little when I sat down and enjoyes a warm sausage roll with caramalised onion straight from the oven.
Sorry about grammatical errors spelling mistakes from the old school system comprehensive little sank in mind you little was taught leaving school barely able to write my name not able to do maths and as you see English so poor even a Viking might understand it.
Back to the weekend having to share the weekend with 3 females two of who rattle on talking day and night can make you edgy was going to say depressed but when you are with family it is all part of the bonding that goes on, I kinda slowed every one down walking tires and puffs me out,we had tea cakes and as I have said sausage rolls to die for not really diabetic or even diabetic but how often do I get out not often so thanks to Angel my wife my eldest daughter Samantha and Angels sister Brenda for a nice weekend PS lots of ducks birds and swans on and around the river for those who like nature love twiddle
