Screwing up big time!

First off I want to thank everyone who sent me birthday wishes! It feels good to be remembered!

I went out for Thai food with my brother, my sister-in-law and my nephew, and I had intentionally decided to eat rice as a celebration, and knew what it would do to my BGs and planned to bolus for it. OK, that part was rational.

BUT, I was so excited and happy to see them, and the food on the menu looked so good, and we got to talking, and guess what! I FORGOT TO BOLUS!!! When my CGM vibrated to tell me I was high, I was at 183, so I immediately took some insulin, but here I am, at 9 PM with my pump showing 316 – at least it’s not showing up arrows any more. What a ditzy way to celebrate my birthday!!!

Have you ever done something like that before?

During good times I do this a few times a year. During bad times I’ve been known to do it two days in a row!

I don’t have a CGM, though, so usually I don’t know until I test hours later and am 400-HI. :frowning:
