I am just curious, I am an ex long time Minimed customer who made the awesome jump to the Animas Ping about 8 months ago. I love the pump, but I cannot stand the ezManager Software. Minimed had the most awesome and easy to use "Carelink" tool. They made it so easy to get reports that you could send to your care provider. I am a techno geek, so I love software...lol
Can anyone share what they are using? If they are using anything.
Yeah I think EZmanager is not "easy" either. Besides the EZmanager, though, Ping comes bundled with Diasend, too. It is an on-line application and you use the dongle the same way, but the data goes to a centralized location for storage. That way you or your CDE or Dr. can access it from their offices too. Anyway the Diasend does a much better job of displaying the pump data than EZmanager does. The only thing I use EZManager for is uploading customized pump names to the pump, such as pet names for the basal profiles, or occaisonaly use EZmanager to manipulate the pump settings via the computer in lieu of the "button" interface on the pump.
Go to www.diasend.com and download their software. You will also need to call for a dongle to upload your pump and meter to the software. The upload process is kind of clumsy until you become accustomed to it, but once the learning curve is accomplished, it is fairly easy.
The software allows your clinic or endo to access your information on a regular basis, so if you need help in between appointments, they can give it to you. The data is very good and easy to understand.
Diasend was one of the reasons that I chose the Animas pump. I always bring my laptop to my CDE and endo appointments. The clinic has a code that you can put into your Diasend profile so that the clinic can access your uploaded information. I believe this works very well and you will like the reporting and record-keeping capabilities. the Animas help line has help available for it if you need it.
