Strange Dex receiver behavior

Lately my Dex has been behaving a little oddly (or maybe I just didn’t notice before…) Sometimes it beeps once, shuts itself off, and reboots itself. After it finishes “initializing” (somewhere less than a minute after the first beep) it beeps twice- long and loud. I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with the battery levele since it has happened at various stages of battery life. I have all of my warnings set to vibrate because I teach and nothing is more embarrassing than cell-phone like beeping in the middle of a conversation with a student. And this weird rebooting always seems to happen during these situations…and it’s starting to annoy me…

Has anyone else experienced this? Did you call Dexcom? Or did you figure out what was causing it so you could make it stop?

Had the same problem. I did call Dexcom, they told me it sometimes happens if it’s in your pocket and not wrapped in a case. They sent me a thin rubber case which I now use and I don’t think it’s happened since.

I do keep it in my pocket so that’s probably ir. But I bought a silicon case and it still happens…

The silicone case took care of it for me, but at the same time I got a replacement receiver because the first one got wet. I’d give customer service a call and see what they say.

Static will do this. I used to keep it in my pocket and in the winter (in New England) it is very low humidity. I now have a cell phone case I wear on my belt. That solved the problem.

Had the same thing happen to me multiple times. Bottom line Dexcom replaced the receiver for me. been ok ever since.

I decided to call Dex and they are replacing my receiver. They told me that it was likely due to static so getting a new one might not entirely make the problem go away but hopefully it will happen a lot less.
