Study VOLUNTEERS NEEDED- from Columbia University

Message approved by Staff

This is an ongoing study TuDiabetes has been participating for some time

Dear member of the TuDiabetes community!

We would like to invite you to participate in a research study!
A group of researchers from the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University is conducting a new study with us. Based on their work with our community so far, they have been developing a new tool that visualizes discussion threads in our discussion forum and makes it easier for members to access all the rich information and social support available within the community.

Now we need your opinion on how useful our tool is. We would love for you to take a part in an evaluation study conducted online via Skype at a time convenient for you. During the study we will ask you to look at a discussion thread about topics related to diabetes self-management and answer several questions about the content discussed. You may be asked to use our tool, or to look at the discussion in its original form. We expect the session to last 45-60 minutes and you will be compensated with a $20 Amazon Gift Card for your participation.

To participate in the study, you must be over 18 years old, be fluent in English, have a diagnosis of diabetes, or care for someone with diabetes, and have some experience participating in online discussion forums on any topic.

If you are interested in the study, please contact us at:

Drashko Nakikj, MPhil (PhD student, Columbia University): dn2311@cumc.columbia.edu

Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
