Those tempting holiday cookies

That time of year again. Baking those cookies. My wife was baking Ginger bread men. ( my favorite). I snuck one. Then she brought me one. When she went upstairs I got another one. I was thinking of a fourth one so I tested my bs. It was 188 so I passed on the fourth one.
My five year old daughter said, " daddy you got no will power"

I think you have a very wise daughter.

An alternative might be to have your wife bake some "friendly" cookies. There are a bunch of cookie recipes at Linda's Low Carb. My favorite are the Almond Cookies, only 3g of carbs per cookie.

.... story of my life. Thanks for sharing, fellow cookie-sneaker :)

I have no problem passing up baked cookies, but when I bake it's hard to keep from tasting the dough. Last time I needed to bake a bunch of cookies, I decided to do a cookie dough glucose tolerance test. So I took my BS every hour. It went up to 205, then down to 149, then back up to 180 and took 3 hours to come down to 120. I guess that was the sugar, then the flour. So now I know. The worst part was the "longing" for more sugar all evening. I knew what caused it, so did not indulge, but it's easy to see how folks get in trouble. Next time someone needs a lot of cookies, I'm going to just give them my recipes and stay out of it. Life is quite fine without cookies.

I'm struggling a little more than usual this season. Here is what I find so hard......it's not like I have thrown caution to the wind and just pigged out. But today I had two mini-muffins and spiked. I didn't bolus because I was at a meeting and we weren't going to eat till after 1.

I think I am going to start logging in the morning and do that till the new year. That might help to keep me on track. Long sigh....................

So I guess I should be glad that I don't celebrate Christmas and am not exposed to cookies very often, because if they are in front of me I WILL eat them. And not just one or two! Same thing for any kind of sweets, except things with berries in them. As long as I'm at home, and there is no temptation, I do just fine, but, just like you, I have NO will power!

Enough said. With me its marshmello fudge I do OK most of the time but every now and then.........I can't help myself. I must have willpower and not think about the fudge. Darn I did it again...sigh.
