Has anyone had difficulty downloading the Tandem update? If so, how did you resolve it? I have Android and I got a message that Windows wouldn’t allow the update because of security. I’ve called Tandem three different times & none of the reps have heard of what I’m talking about.
I figured it out. I think I can download it in Chrome, but not in Edge. The problem is that I have to turn off S mode in order to download Chrome, and so far, I can’t turn it off. I’ve sent a request to Windows, but so far, they haven’t responded. Why is our society so complicated? Don’t answer that. I know the answer.
Let me put my IT support hat on. A PC with Windows S mode turned on is not compatible with the Tandem Device Updater. S mode can be turned off but it cannot be turned on again. I recommend finding a computer that does not have S mode enabled rather than making a permanent change. A doctors office may be able to do the update for you. Friends, neighbors, libraries and community centers are other options with PCs or Macs you may be able to use.

After disabling S mode you will be able to download and run the Tandem Device Updater using the Microsoft Edge browser. You do not need Chrome.
It turns out my computer has a glitch. Windows called me this morning and they went above and beyond to remove s mode. S mode has to be removed in order to download Chrome & I need Chrome to download the update. We worked on it for hours. I’m not exaggerating. They said there’s one more thing they can try tomorrow. Windows’ service has been impressive.
This is an update in case anyone else ever has the same problem. Windows’ customer service emailed me a link that fixed my computer and allowed me to remove S mode. I’m not a tech expert, but I think they wrote a program for my computer and essentially created a patch. I downloaded Chrome and the Tandem update. G7 Ctrl IQ is now sailing along. Whoo! I"m glad that’s over.
