I spoke with smokinbeaver (Brokenpole's wife) a while ago. He developed a fever on Monday and was admitted to the hospital. She said he's doing better as evidenced by being "angry and irritable about having to be in the hospital' :) He has a nasty possibly drug-resistant pneumonia. The antibiotics he's getting do seem to be working - his high fevers are gone.
He has his phone, and can read internet, but can't type because of all the bells and whistles he's attached to. So... leave a note if you're inclined. I'll update when I hear from smokinbeaver :)
I'll be first. Sparky, only YOU would need to go to the hospital in a quarter-sized hail storm! Glad to hear you're being ornery, that's a good sign ;)
Sending loads of hugs and healing energy to you both!
Hi Sparky. When I was feeling wobbly about writing you said to me, Keep writing! So now I say, Keep being irritable and get well soon! We're missing you...
Sparky, let me know if a rousing argument about gun rights might help, and I'll call you right away! Or if you're more in a "verbal hugging" mood, I'm happy to do that, too :)
Much love, my friend. If I don't hear anything from you soon I'm going to call and bother you.
Sending all good thoughts your way. Agree with Marie, cranky patients get well more quickly & get better care. So, go for it.
My 84 year old mother was recently hospitalized with pneumonia & the flu. Her doctors said it was drug-resistant. Guess what? They were wrong. Be still my shocked heart, a doctor was wrong. Imagine that:)
Jon,my dear friend, I am so sad you are in the hospital. I miss our daily talks. Please get well soon. I am keeping in touch with Sharon and Alex. Get well soon. If anything I can do call me. Your friend, Reed
Much love and many positive thoughts and prayers to smokinbeaver and brokenpole! We're thinking about you and miss your humor. Give them heck in the hospital Sparky! Don't be mooning those nurses in that stylish hospital gown! :) Best wishes to your family.
Hi Sparky- What are you doing in the hospital ? It is for sick people, not ornery people. Get well quickly, b/c we need you here. Hugs from your catlover friend. ((((((hugs))))) Susan
Oh dang it Sparky - I am also in the hosp and also went in last Mon. Just like in Dec, one side of my body filled up with fluid. Might be headed home later today. Started on a new diuretic and have been up all night going winky-tink. Best wishes dear, for a good recovery.
