I have been away from my community, not contributing as before.I suffered from depression because of wars in Middle East.Last January,it was renewd with conflict in our area. I sank in my depression to the extent of not being as active as before in my work,no lectures, avoiding gathering,my only solitude was in my patients.
The kindness and support I found here was amazing,I have great friends whom I love and respect. Then Sandy died,it was shocking for me,still it is.
This community is heaven for me,I improved my practice, helped my diabetic kids in a better way, learnt about diabetes in adults tremendously.
My passion for poetry blossomed here, with poetry club & nostalgia as gardens for me and my friends to go there and reflect.
The true beauty of this community lies in the friendship, respect, tolerance and support among members.
We are family here, need the support of each other in all time…in all situations…
I Love to thank Manny and our lovely administration for the support they give all of us.
Thanks tmana,I do miss you and your thoughts and ideas.Away from all, my poetry blossomed, more books for publication and in all I wrote in my CV that I am a member in tudiabetes
I understand completely Sohair! Sometimes it can get overwhelming for all of us. Thank you so much for your beautiful contribution to the community…love and hugs =)
thanks for reminding us of our Sandy. There will never be another quite like her, and I miss her terribly. Sandy was such a giver - the day before she died, she was helping a mother here, desperate for support for her t1 child with multiple diagnoses. Sandy never blogged, and only started 7 discussions. She was always helping others, and always jumped right in when the person in the most despair cried out. Of course, we are a family, and there are many different personalities, and that’s what makes a community vibrant. I am proud to be a member here, too, and often thank our hard-working volunteer here, especially Manny and Andreina for bringing us together.
Yes my dear friend Marie,Sandy is the example for giving and caring and supporting all of us.
Manny &Andreina are doing an expexional work creating a unique community for us all.I feel bad that I am not doing any thing to contribute to our great community.
oh, Sohair, you help us all with your knowledge and thoughtfulness. I am sure I’m not the only one here who is comforted by you! It is an honor to have you share with us, and an honor to be your friend.
Thanks Manny, you created my dream, continue to make it a world wide dream, and I am behind you, with you all here to support diabetes cause with all means.I love our community here because of the great vaues it support.
Thanks
Sohair, our dear friend, we’re glad to see you writing here again. I thought of you today when I was at my appointment with my endocrinologist. I was talking with her about how thankful I am that there are doctors out there who really try to listen to their patients.
I am glad you are back Sohair. Hopefully, since we have elected a new President, the United States will pull out of Iraq, as promised. I hope Iraq can remain stable after that happens, though I fear the worst. But we do not belong there and should stop interfering. Hopefully we will see peace in our lifetime, just as we hope to see a cure in our lifetime. Please take care of yourself and try not to succumb to depression, get help for yourself if need be. You cannot help others if you do not take care of yourself first. I truly believe most people wish for peace. Why can’t the politicians get the message?
Melissa,
Thank you very much for your kind words.Your experience with diabetes and how you went from highA1c to normal and your comments to other members are very valuable to me.
