ok so here is the short version of my question. For the last couple months I have been carrying around 2 bags of my diabetic supplies. One bag has my insulin and testing supplies in (gauze, meter, pens, vials, gauze, pads, and syrgines) the other bag has mostly my emergency meds (3 pill bottles) and my glucagen pen as along with my gel and sugar tabs.
My goal is to get everything in 1 bag but the only bags that i have been finding are close enough to be womens makeup cases.
Does anyone know of a good big bag that could handle all this that is not a womens makeup case :)
Adorn designs has a basic black messenger bag made for D supplies, including a place for an ice pack. Burton has a load of mens messenger bags, some with loads of pockets.
If you google diabetes bag men you'll find loads more ;)
A Guy friend of mine who has type 1 carries a small backpack. He has 2 of them. one has two arm straps and the other has one that goes over the chest sort of speak, like a messenger bag. You can find these small back packs at Target, Walmart and if you're ok with spending an extra penny REI
Best Buy has a lot of camera bags. online a company called Built or Built NY makes cool bags and they have a camera bag I like. You can find them on Amazon also.

I used to get everything into a rectangular shaving bag. Testing kit, insulin, syringes. The works. They still manage to look fairly manly or like a camera bag.
I didn't ever want to size up to the full bag size. Now I'm a bit older I don't really care any more. I'm on a pump but still want to carry around my phone, glucose testing kit, camera, and usually a book or two, so I'm on the lookout for a decent man bag too. I'm finding the search has them either looking like overly trendy ex military packs or leather briefcases.
Doesn't seem anything kind of stylish and in between in both size and function. Not that I've found so far anyway. I want something almost a little larger than a kids modern lunch box, single compartment, that doesn't make me feel like a douche carrying it.
My wife's a bag designer / technical illustrator. She used to work for Built. I've been trying to encourage her to develop something for diabetic supplies. I think it would be an interesting challenge. Sounds like an uphill battle, though. The market is limited, price point too low, etc.
I carry a big backpack around a lot, anyway. Either that, or just a test kit in my pocket. Interested to see what people would want from a case, though. I'll get her to read this thread.
I remember those medicool cases used to freeze my insulin all the times. A lot of these bags look like you're carying a pharmacy. I guess part of the problem is that your needs are a lot different for a pump vs syringes, vs pens. Also, I've never been a big fan of elastic holding stuff in place.

I have my meter,strips,lancets,finger wipes,pricker,AST cap,alcohol wipes,cotton wool balls, pen needles,syringes,hypo food,glucagon,glucose gel, diabetic id card,logbook,control solution for the meter, insulin pens and spare pen cartridge/vial. The back compartment also says that it holds pump supplies. It looks a bit like lunch box, not at all medical and it comes in some nice colors. I live in the UK but ordered it from Australia. Delivery was really quick.It is quite expensive but it is very sturdy and means that I can keep everything in one place. It has been designed by a family with five people with diabetes so they know exactly want we want. It even has a rubbish compartment for used test strips.
