670 infusion sets

I currently use the comfort short infusion set and animas pump. It’s taken me a long time to find an infusion set that works well for me.

My pump is out of warranty and I signed up for the 670G. The first question I asked the rep was if it was compatible with the comfort short infusion set and she said yes.

A lady just called to confirm what I would need for my pump training and told me that comfort short is not approved for the 670. Now I’m really frustrated. Is there a comparable infusion set out there that I could use? I asked what my options were for just sending the pump back. That’s how frustrated I am. I have a horrible time with infusion sets and the medtronic quick set does not work for me.

Any advice out there???

Medtronic has a couple other infusion sets besides the quick set.

Medtronic has the MiniMed Mio, Sihouette, and Sure T infusion sets as well as the Quick set maybe one of those would work for you.

I think the 13mm Silhouette is the same as the Animas Comfort short? https://www.medtronicdiabetes.com/customer-support/minimed-670g-system-support/comparing-infusion-sets

I went to the Animas website that showed the Comfort Short features. I use the Medtronic Silhouette infusion set and I agree with @Brian_J. The Silhoutte infusion set should make a close approximation for your Comfort Short. The 13mm cannula Silhouette is the one I use and find it dependable.

Good luck with your new 670!

I use the 13mm silhouettes also. They look the same at Comfort Short sets. I have heard they are made by the same company with the only difference being the tube connector.

I have used both the Animas and Tandem Comfort Shorts and the 13mm Silhouette. They are the same set with just different tubing. When I switched from Medtronic to Animas, I was able to use my remaining Silhouettes with Animas tubing.

I went the other way - from Silhouette 13 mm to Comfort Short. They are identical sets and are made by the same company Unomedical. The only difference is the connector at the reservoir/cartridge end of the tubing.

Thanks for your replies everyone
