Animas Pump- No Delivery

Hello everyone, I have a quick but important question about my pump.

I have never had any issues with my pump since I got it about a year ago. Today I went for a run which I do ALL the time. I ran 3 miles, it was raining but the pump is water proof and it was under my coat so it didn't even get wet.

When I got home, I d/c it so I could shower because I never shower with it on... I like to be FREE!!! Anyways, as son as I d/c it, it alarmed and displayed not delivery pump not primed.

Now, I know the pump was primed cause I didn't do ANYTHING to it and I wasn't going to change everything out till tonight. It still had 15u of insulin in it. Why might it have done that? Is it okay to use it?

I swapped everything out, new infusion set, new tubing, and new cartridge, I am guessing it's okay to use now that the pump has been reprimed. it is no longer displaying that message, but I leery of technology when it comes to my health and I just want to make sure that my awesome pump is going to continue to be awesome.

I have had this situation occur also. When I called the Animas help line they told me that if the screw on insulin chamber cap is loose at all, then it will result in a “no delivery, pump not primed alarm.” Now I make doubly sure that this cap is torqued down well. Once I paid close attention to this I have not experience any more of these alarms. I was told that there are some sensors attached to the insulin reservoir mechanism that complain if there are any mechanical anomalies associated with the movement of the reservoir plunger pusher.

I hope this helps.

That's a general message meaning for some reason the pump thinks there is a problem & stops delivery. Look in the history menu & select Alarm to see if you missed an Alarm. That is the 1st place I look whenever the pump does anything unexpected. Also always call Animas support when you are unsure. They are always very helpful when I call. It could have been an occlusion.

Hi juliannaergrl (hope I spelled that right),

Sounds like a look cap for the insulin reservoir. Whenever I get that alarm and I know that I'm not out of insulin, it has ALWAYS been a loose cap. I just snug it down tight, go into the prime setting and prime zero units. That resets it to think its ready to go. And on with my day I go.

Good luck and cheers,
Mike
