Woo Hoo!!! Six point Two!! 'Nuf said!
Congrats @GregS
woohoo, way to go.
Congratulations @GregS! Great news
Well done!
Way to go @GregS - you gotta be happy with that
Great work, @GregS. I like to take full credit whenever my diabetes data reveal good numbers. When the numbers are not so good, I just blame it on diabetes!
Way to go @GregS!!!
happy for u!!!@
Thank you ALL for the kind replies and for celebrating my great results with me! It means a great deal to me to be able to share this with everyone. It’s been a very long time since my A1C has been this low. Probably before I was diagnosed. Even during my “honeymoon” period, I think I was only able to achieve a 6.5. It just kept creeping higher and higher despite all my efforts with manual injections of the usual types of insulin. In the early part of 2018, my A1C was north of 9.5. My new Endo suggested I start on the Medtronic 670g due to my struggles with frequent hypo’s and ensuing roller-coaster highs. Let me tell you, It’s been tough to learn to work with this system, but I have seen terrific results. I got down to 7.1 at my 1st check after starting the pump, then 6.9 and now 6.2!! She said I was a 670g ROCK STAR!! I really like my new Endocrinologist.
Thanks again for letting me celebrate this with y’all.
Best Regards,
Greg
Hard to find a good doctor, let alone a good diabetes doctor. Curious are you using the Medtronic cgm too?
Yup. the Guardian 3 sensors and CGM work with the 670g. It is far from perfect, but it works for me. I still have a “Love-Hate Relationship” with it, but right now it’s mostly LOVE.
Good job!! Us diabetics cross our fingers at every endo appointment hoping that the results are good!!
Congrats. As to your love/hate relationship with cgm…did you know you can get a free transmitter which has fixed the maddening calibrate /blood glucose now problem? It’s something they have recently improved. This is thru Medtronic .
Yes, I was in on that early on when they first started offering the replacement transmitter. And yes it did make a big difference for that first day of a new sensor when calibration can be difficult if BG is not fairly constant. The things I “hate” about the 670g are the same that some here have complained about, like not being able to set a target lower than 120 mg/dl or the sensors not tracking closely enough and the “algorithm” not being aggressive enough to combat Dawn Phenomenon.
Thanks again for the replies and kind words. I think I’ve made great progress with this system and look forward to seeing the next generation of the “Hybrid Closed Loop” insulin pump.
