Woo! Hoo! Way to go. Isn't it amazing what hard work can do? We are all so proud of you here (and maybe a little jealous?).
Congrats! How did you do this?
Congratulations and happy birthday. Can you feel a difference?
Way to go!
Thanks!
I can't say what I did is all that special though? By simply going on insulin and actually eating again after a misdiagnosis of type 2 that made me starve myself.I went back to what I ate pre-diagnosis with some discipline to portion control and no more sugary drinks other than maybe a little coffee creamer in my coffee (which I'm not sure counts as I use the normal amount and it's only got 5 carbs and that's all I add) . With insulin coverage I find it safe to eat 45-80 carbs per meal (usually less at night unless am kinda low or hungrier than usual) 3-5 hours apart. I walk as much as possible during the week with at least 1 day with some more vigrous exercise ...I still probably don't exercise enough but trying is what counts I think. I worry this might still just be the honeymoon period too, but it might not be and I'm just lucky as could be?
I wasn't on insulin when I got my first a1c (though I was starving myself where it was entirely because I just wasn't eating much) and since starting insulin in September , it helped a lot. I don't feel like crap very often unless I just have general non-diabetic sick people problems or my period . Insulin is the best thing since sliced bread for me .
