Tomorrow I’ll be doing the Terry Fox Run/Walk here in Ontario, Canada. What walks or runs will you be doing this month. BTW I’ll be walking.
LOL! I done my walking last night at the fair. Nothing big it took 5 hours (I think it was) to seeeverything there and ride the rides that were there with my g-daughter! LOVE YOUR BTW I’lL BE WALKING part there!
Hi Doris. I love walking around fairgrounds. There is always so much energy and fun. I love the rides too. How are you feeling today? Joanne
I did the Naperville Trails 1/2 Marathon (PR 1:58.45 w00t!) last weekend and am running the Chicago Marathon 100911. I had the last long training run today, 20 miles in 3:15 and am going to back off to rest up for race day!
Congrats AR! Hmm… Are you looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon? Joanne
I thought you had to run 3:30 or something like that for Boston so that’s not on my radar? I will be happy to finish in a number starting with 4? It also depends on the weather since Chicago seems to range from 30-90 degrees in early October. Today was really nice!
Tired! LOL! AR can do this stuff…Not me though I’m too old & lazy! LOL!
Off to Kelowna, BC for the October 9 Marathon , just around the corner …my number 11 with Team Diabetes ( Team D. Rocks …ask me and will do 10 K …will I set a personal record ?? All I want to do is cross the finish line upright and smiling .
My fund raising going extremely well …am just over $ 1,000.00 CAN …the min . goal is $ 350,00 CAN

Have a great walk tomorrow Peetie !!
I used to Love track and running with our Kids when the drugs were working Good years ago. I do walk as far as I can when I am able but nothing like a marathon. I miss it. I hope that you have a Fine, energizing day tomorrow Peetie.
Hey Number 11!!! I did not know that you were doing another Marathon. I thought that you weren’t going to do anymore. I’ll pop one in the mail for Ya Nel. Yes, landing upright is far Better than landing on your face. Do not do that. Good going and Great Luck to Ya.
Hmm… AR… it looks like one needs to wait until age 60 for the 4s. If you keep training the way you do … who knows? Good luck with the Chicago Marathon.
I agree Judith. I used to run sprints and relays as a kid but…no more. I leave the running to my hubby.
Our walk tomorrow will be a 10K route along the lake. It’s supposed to be a beautiful day.
BTW How are you doing with your walking these days? Did any of the supplements help? Joanne
Hi Nel: Congrats on getting all the pledges!! What is your personal best?? Joanne
Hi Terrie: Our walk is only 10K and I don’t plan to push it as I’m just recovering from a bout with neuropathy myself.
So sorry to hear that you are having difficulty walking. Is the problem diabetes related?
Holy Cow Peetie. That is over 6 miles. I know that I couldn’t do near that. I’m Lucky on a Good day(which don’t come often), if I can do close to a mile. Believe me, I’ve tried. No, I don’t have Neuropathy now. It’s severe Rheumatoid, another auto-immune disease which eventually damages all the joints , some organs, etc. and affects muscles, tendons, ligaments. It cripples People. Sorry, that you have Neuropathy Peetie. I know that even in the early stages that it can be a Real pain also. Are you taking the R-ALA?
Hi Terrie,
I’m fine. My neuropathy seems to have healed and I never did have any real pain. I just get overly worried about blisters etc. because I did lose some sensation.
So sorry to hear about the Rheumatiod. These auto-immune diseases just suck! I just have T2 and only since 2004 and I find that tough enough to handle. I can’t believe how many people on here have to juggle multiple conditions!
Be well Terrie. Joanne
Peetie, …thanks
Overcast here in the Shuswap for the Terry Fox run !
My intend always has been to raise funds and awareness through Team Diabetes for the CDA, since I joined in 2003 …not how fast I could go , so for most readers " my best time ever " may not mean anything ?
Disney World 2009 , 1/2 M : 3 hours , 07, 18 …Donald Duck medal …how appropiate ;
Rome , 2006 Marathon : 6 hours, 27 min, 53 sec …this medal has been framed …my very first M
Terrie , I thought so too till I went on a 4 hour hike, end July at Silver Star , Vernon with a group of pumpers and supporters coached by Chris Jarvis , Canadian Olympian Rower , insulin pumper and marathoner and hiker and …and … got hooked, made a promise to sign up for Kelowna …And most of all : thank you for your continued support I likely will wear a poster on my back in memory of 2 women with type 1 diabetes , who died much , much too young .
Wow! We had beautiful weather for the walk. The 10K took just over 2 hours. I hear we raised
$23 000. which is great for a small town! Oh yes, I slept all afternoon.
Happy walking and running everyone!
Joanne
Hey Nel: That’s great! Hope you have the same beautiful weather for your walk.
Joanne
