I'm looking forward to it.
That is great news. I've signed up as well and made my flight arrangements. I'm not a fan of Las Vegas but I look forward to seeing everyone face to face. The organizers are asking for input on what the agenda and topics should be so everyone should try and give them feedback. I just can't decide whether to stay at the Flamingo or next door at places nearby with suites.
here's the event page for this

if you can go, GO. #BigHugs from Manny are the BEST, don't miss your opportunity!
Where are they asking for input/how can one submit it?
I believe they were sending out a survey to people who registered.
I bet they have suites at the Flamingo and that if you call and schmooze them, theyāll be able to hook you up. We went a couple of years ago and stayed at the Cosmo and had a great time!
Okay, just booked. Acidrock23, I hope you're able to come, I want to pick your brain in person! Ha, I hope I didn't just scare you off entirely...
I signed up a long time ago! See you there. You should put up a profile pic so I can find you. I like the conference a lot but am sort of into partying too. It will be interesting...
Great. For now I'm not so keen on the idea that the interwebs could identify me here, my diabetes and my involvement here feel pretty personal. Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty open about it, but it's not something I want to broadcast universally, either. Partly for that reason, it'll be great to interact with folks in person in Vegas.
And I am happy to join the party posse, too. (And if there's a foodie posse, sign me up for that one also!) Oddly, I haven't visited Vegas yet, so I'd love to get a sense of the scene more generally.
I'm planning on going, and just booked a flight.
This year makes it 50 years of T1D for me, and a trip to Las Vegas seems like a nice way to celebrate with those who understand what that means.
Wow! 50 years is a great accomplishment!! Don't bet your medal!!
They do have suites at the Flamingo and if you are a high roller and a member of the TotalRewards you can readily get one. But I'm not a gambler. I did stay in a suite at Ballys in 2013, the sister resort next door and it was fine, but it was really an entertainment suite. It had a large bar and room for like 30-40 people in a living room area and a nice big bathroom with jacuzzi. But it wasn't really livable, it was just a hotel room with a big room for entertaining. I just like to have a home away from home.
I was thinking about the Wyndham Grand Desert which has 2 bedroom 2 bath suites with full kitchen, living room and laundry. I have timeshares and can get in. It is two blocks away (in Las Vegas blocks that is a mile) and I could always use the walk.
ps. And the Cosmo is nice, I've not stayed there but I've eaten there and visited some of the venues. Our beloved "cult" leader...lol
Well well well, Judith! If I threw a rock off my back deck there's a chance I might inadvertently bean your daughter :-)
Thanks !
Just booked a room, and happy to find discounted rooms still available.
Have you seen āThe Hangoverā ?
Iāve read āFear and Loathing in Las Vegasā 1/2 dozen timesā¦
Does anyone know if spouses are welcome/able to come and participate? My husband would like to come with and is a vital part of my daily care. Heās always interested to hear news about Diabetes-land and itās peoples. Iām not sure Iād come without him so Iād love to hear from someone soon.
Nm just found the spouse blurb. Maybe next year.
Glad I saw this today! I'm in definite need of some commiseration so I signed up! See you all there!
