Hey everyone, I’m super excited to attend the second annual ConnecT1D adult retreat in April 22 – 23 and hope to see some of you there too!
Last year we got together at a beautiful place with a bunch of people who also know what it’s like to live with T1D, and it was awesome. Partners were welcome as well so my husband joined me and it ended up being such a meaningful, positive and fun experience for the both of us in ways we didn’t expect.
This year, the weekend retreat takes place at the Clearwater Resort and Casino, just a 20 minute ferry ride from Seattle, where we’ll share some meals, listen to some speakers, have workshops, and do fun activities related to promoting social connection and emotional wellness while living with T1D. We’ll also have the opportunity to do some yoga, hear about the latest and greatest diabetes technology and advancements, and just hang out with people who won’t get all weird when we beep and buzz, take out our meters, injections or pumps and poke ourselves. It’s basically like diabetes camp but for adults!
Here’s a slideshow from the 2016 retreat so you get a little taste of the fun
Go to connect1d.org/retreat to reserve your spot and/or get more info on what is planned for this year’s weekend Retreat. T3s/partners welcome! Hurry, space is limited!
Yeah! I’ll be there. I’m really excited by this event. I’ll be talking about diabetes burnout…which, unfortunately, I’m an expert at. And I’ll also be leading some discussion for the male attendees.
Adult retreat? Wow! I should have known early this year when making my finance planning. I wont miss it next time and I´ll be interrogating you all without a doubt. Have fun you all!
Yes, @mrmikelawson, all of us at the planning committee are very excited to hear your talk!
During last year’s retreat the topic came up often and so I think this is a great pick for a presentation.
Thank you so much for your participation, I’m looking forward to meeting you in person.
