Good news!

I just have to share this. My first A1c reading after a full 6 months using the Dexcom = 5.5. That’s the lowest ever - in over 13 years! Knowing when your’re trending high definitely = better control.

Congrats on the great A1c, @Gracie9! Keep up with all your efforts. Do you upload to Clarity?

Thanks @Terry4 I use Clarity primarily to provide info for my Dr. visit. They still check my meter also.

Congratulations! The Dexcom is life-changing, for sure. I also had the lowest A1c of my life (6.0) six months after starting on Dex. Keep it up!

Congratulations!! The CGM is an amazing tool - allows you tighter control without the fear of lows. Keep up the good work!

Congrats!! wow!

Dexcom is a A1C game changer.

Great news…how did you manage that

That is great! I’ve been using a Dexcom for 11 years and I haven’t been hospitalized or had paramedics at the house for a low in 11 years. It is truly life changing technology, and an absolute necessity for any diabetic taking insulin.

Congratulations!

Thanks everyone. I was actually considering discontinuing the Dexcom because it is so uncomfortable re: rashes, itching. But after this result I’ll try harder to find a way to deal with it. Thanks again!

Amazing job. Congratulations on using technology well. Nancy

Outstanding!

Curious if those using Dexcom are using the receiver or iPhone? I’m using the iPhone but Edgepark forced me into buying a $612 receiver that I don’t need. They say the FDA requires it even though the FDA has approved using the IPhone. This doesn’t make any sense.

I have my first Dr appt in two days after using the CGM for 1.5 months. I’ll be estastic if I’m below 7.

Gracie … curious what your A1C score was prior to using the CGM?

That’s awesome! Well done! That’s lower than my non-diabetic grandmother’s A1C was when I took her for her yearly physical last month

Hi @Maggie4 My 3 yr average before the Dexcom was 6.8 and it was trending upward - last two before Dexcom were in the 7’s. After 3 mos of using the Dexcom, it went down to 6.4, and now 6 mos after that it’s 5.5. It takes a bit to adjust the alerts to where they work best for you. I bought the transmitter also, but only used it the first month. Now I use my iPhone. Hope you have good results - let us know!!

Personally, I use both (I have the G4, so it’s easier). I like having the ability to take a receiver when I do NOT want to carry a phone. Yes, I’m like that, there I times every week when I want to and do ‘disconnect’ - at least in terms of cell phones!

I use the receiver. My iPhone 4 (not a typo) is still on iOS 6 LOL i swear i heard a few of the tecchier folks gasp!!

I’ve seen ppl selling Dexcom stuff on eBay so if you don’t need the receiver, you might get some of your :moneybag: back!
